CONTROVERSIAL plans by the Meriden travellers to move their illegal site to agricultural land next door, are being recommended for refusal.

The Gypsies had signed an agreement with Solihull Council to leave their Eaves Green Lane site by next March.

But the travellers have since submitted two further planning applications, to move the illegal site to land they own next door, as well as continuing to appeal.

Members at next Wednesday’s Planning Committee are being recommended to refuse the application.
