HAVING suffered the tragic loss of a stillborn daughter earlier this year, a couple have now set up a foundation to raise funds for SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity).
Ryan and Amy Jackson, from Balsall Common, sadly lost daughter Lily Mae when she was born at just 37 weeks in February.
The pair, who have a three-year-old son Alfie, were determined to raise money for research.
Following a golf day in which £12,500 was collected in 10 weeks, The Lily Mae Foundation was established.
Ryan, a PE teacher said: “All donations and money that we raise through fundraising events are solely for SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity).
“The Lily Mae Foundation provides information on future fundraising events as well as allowing donations to be made direct to SANDS through our Justgiving page and also directly through the SANDS website.
“We also provide information on stillbirth, free advertising for companies who have sponsored events and allow people to view ‘Our Story’.
“One of the pages on our site is called ‘Inspirations’ and this allows us to remember not only our daughter Lily Mae Jackson, but also other babies of parents we have met since this tragic event.”
The family are set to hold another golf day next year and require teams and sponsors for the event.
