A GANG suspected of an armed robbery in Solihull are due before Wolverhampton Crown Court in June.
Four men in their twenties and a 35-year-old man have been charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
The four in their twenties were arrested in early morning raids last Wednesday, May 4.
During a search of the addresses, a quantity of cannabis was recovered, £10,000 in cash, suspected stolen vehicles and evidence linked to a number of serious offences.
The charges relate to a series of armed robberies committed between October 1 2010 and December 31 2010, including one in the borough.
Weapons involved in the incidents included a machete, CS spray, an axe, a taser and a handgun.
The gang are alleged to have targeted jewellery shops, pubs, bookmakers and homes.
Lewis Richards, aged 20, from Kingstanding, Ryan Jones, aged 21, from Walsall, Levi Melbourne, aged 23, from Aldridge and Imran Zaman, aged 22, from Birmingham, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 5.
They have been remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 9.
A fifth man Waheed Zaman, aged 35, from Birmingham, has been charged with the same offence. He is already in prison for a separate offence and it is thought his case will be heard at a later date.
