THOUSANDS of people turned out to enjoy a slice of rural life at the annual Sheldon Country Park Fayre.

Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Coun Michael Wilkes, joined the crowds of people who turned up to enjoy the show.

Among the activities at last month’s jamboree were donkey rides and dog-displays. There was also live music and the National Farmers Union (NFU) brought plenty of farm produce for people to enjoy.

Tony Webster, one of the organisers, said: “We’ve been running the fair for 20 years and it just gets bigger and better.”

Proceeds from the fayre will be ploughed back in to a range of community causes.
