YET more words of wisdom from Don Bargery! I am sure that most Silhillians realise 'dear Don' is an avid admirer of all things 'New Labour'.
But if he thinks GP surgeries will be able to remain in all local areas when faced with more and more polyclinics being provided - then he is living in 'Cloud Cuckoo Land'.
A second wave of Darzi polyclinics is planned in a move that will sharply increase the number of surgeries earmarked for closure. PCTs have admitted around 150 surgeries will close - but this figure is likely to be the tip of the iceberg.
There is huge opposition from GPs. Has 'dear Don', with his high opinion of 'his' Yew Tree Surgery, ascertained their views?
As for a polyclinic on the site of Solihull Hospital - will parking charges be made? A little enterprise for making money for Heart of England Foundation Trust?
I have had a lifetime of brilliant treatment from my own GPs and I trust them - they know my medical history. Polyclinics - just another expensive gimmick. Get Real Don!
