IT'S all going to the dogs - according to a Knowle salon who have named Guide Dogs for the Blind as its charity for the year.

The Francesco Group will support the charity by organising fund raising events over the next twelve months.

The salon's team of staff are aiming to raise £5,000 to pay for a new puppy and fund its training.

The first of these events will see salon franchisee Shane Collins, taking part in a 300-mile London to Paris bike ride.

Shane and a group of friends will set off on Sunday August 24 and plan to complete the trip in just four days.

Shane said: "We're really looking forward to the ride, it will be such an amazing achievement and to do it whilst raising money for such a worthwhile cause is great!"

The group will start from Trafalgar Square in London and ride to Dover in time to catch the ferry across to Calais.

From there, they will cycle an average of 60 miles a day through the French countryside to make it to the Eiffel Tower finish line on the fourth day.

If you would like to support Shane and his team, visit the salons for details on how to donate or call 01564 774647.
