IT was a stunning month for the Spotlight Stage School, who walked away from a national dance competition with no less than four British titles.

The dancers went head-to-head in a gripping final - which was held at the Wolverhampton Civic earlier this month.

Nine of Spotlight's routines had qualified for the last stage - more than any other troupe in the contest.

The dancers finished first in four of the categories - they managed a respectable second or third place with the other five routines. Vicky Richards, principal, had nothing but praise for her pupils.

She said: "We were delighted to have made it to the finals, so when every entry was placed first, second or third at national level, and we were awarded four British titles, it was a dream come true!

"The boys and girls had worked so hard for this event and they deserved the success they experienced."

As an added bonus, the school was awarded the "Costume Trophy" for their colourful collection of outfits.

Following their stellar performance in Wolverhampton, Spotlight is now rehearsing hard for their next show at Solihull Arts Complex. To find out more call Vicky on 0121 242 3904.
