Dancing friends to perform at Cup Final

TWO dancing divas from The Sixth Form College Solihull are set to perform in front of more than 60,000 spectators in May.

TWO dancing divas from The Sixth Form College Solihull are set to perform in front of more than 60,000 spectators in May.

Rebecca Wilson and Catherine Hackney will entertain rugby fans at the Heineken Cup Final staged at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

The teenagers will perform their cheerleading style on the Pro Excel Move It dance programme.

For 17-year-old Rebecca this opportunity is set to help her career ambitions.

“This will be a great experience for both Cathy and myself, particularly as we will be performing in front of so many people.”

Rebecca is studying A Levels in Dance, Theatre Studies and English Literature at the College and plans to progress to Coventry University to do a degree in Dance and Drama.

Meanwhile 18-year-old Catherine from Solihull, is also planning to continue her Dance at university. The former Langley School student is currently taking AS Levels in Dance, Theatre Studies, Physical Education and English Language & Literature and plans to study Dance and Physical Education at either Derby or Chester.

She added: “The week we spent during half-term learning the routine was great. We are both really looking forward to putting our training into practice at Murrayfield.”
