LOOK who came to town...
Doctor Who star Matt Smith was the guest of honour at a convention held last weekend to celebrate the BBC sci-fi series.
Around 600 fans had turned out to see the Last of the Time Lords at the Eleventh Hour event, at the NEC’s Hilton Metropole Hotel.
While Matt had traded in his traditional tweed jacket and bow tie for a more casual wardrobe, that didn’t stop many of his fans dressing up in the doctor’s outfit themselves.
His appearance, signing autographs and posing for photos, was quite a coup for the event’s organisers.
The actor is already several months in to filming his third series, which will hit TV screens later this year.
And in recent times, it’s been rare for an actor to attend a convention while still in the role - previous doctor David Tennant had largely held off until he’d hung up the Tardis keys.
Other stars of the series to make an appearance included Scottish actress Neve McIntosh - who plays scaly-skinned Silurian Madam Vastra - and science fiction stalwart Mark Sheppard.
