FOR 180 years entirely self supporting RSPCA – with annual running costs of £100m fully deserves ours and many others regular donations and will bequests to help their marvellous work for all kinds of animals by devoted staff.
Human beings must respect other members of the animal world, aiming at preventing cruelty, promote kindness and lessen suffering. In England and Wales their dedicated inspectors work constantly investigating over 100,000 complaints about cruelty yearly.
It costs RSPCA about £3,366 to prosecute one offender, but we must expose and imprison, or heavily fine these wicked people. From their centres they rehome about 68,000 animals of every kind annually, plus Scotland and Northern Ireland doing likewise. In UK 60 per cent of households have pets and most people happily accept their responsibilities. Please nurture then and try to obtain from rescue charities, rather than pet shops. Financially times for many are hard but we cannot divorce animals. They must not suffer for banks’ failures.
