Doreen’s anger over post chaos

IN her eighties, Doreen Brevin used to enjoy the sound of the mail dropping onto the mat in her neat Solihull home.

But now, after two years of receiving post meant for Solihull Care Trust in Shirley, the pensioner, who is registered blind, has had enough.

Although Doreen, aged 80, lives at The Green in central Solihull and the Trust is located at The Green in Shirley, the post office insist on delivering the wrong letters and parcels on a regular basis - even with the post code clearly marked.

She said: “I am fed up with it now.

“Despite the fact my regular postman had a word with the sorting manager to check my post, it is still going on.

“I’ve written to the postmaster as well.

“I’ve had parcels delivered with thousands of pamphlets inside from Age Concern that they never collected even though I told the postman.

“And for some reason I never have a delivery on a Monday.

“I am just worried because the mail is all private and confidential medical stuff - I don’t want that coming here.”

A Royal Mail spokesman said they had put a special instruction on Doreen’s mail, which should ensure that only post addressed to her would be delivered from now on.
