MEET the dancing duo who are hoping to cha-cha-cha their way to a £250,000 prize in a national dancing contest.

Rebecca Scott, from Knowle, and dance partner Lloyd Perry will be strutting their stuff on Sky 1 TV series Got To Dance.

Weekly rehearsals are a rigorous business for the 13-year-old friends, who live over 100 miles apart.

Most weeks Arden Academy pupil Rebecca makes the long trip to Lloyd’s home in South Wales.

Now the pair, who have been partners for over three years, are hoping to make an impression on the Sunday night show.

“Something like this could just open so many doors; dancing professionally is definitely what I want to do,” said Rebecca.

“Lloyd’s my best friend and we’ve been dancing together for so long that we know each other’s habits.

“Because there’s the two of us out there it means that you don’t really get nervous.”

The fleet-footed teenager said that she had started dance lessons when she was just three years old.

At first she was learning ballet but she found herself drawn to ballroom and latin.

“With ballet it was very strict,” she said. “You had to make sure your feet were in a certain position and your arms held so high.

“You sometimes forget how big dancing is. When I first went to Blackpool there were people from Japan, Russian, all over the world.

“And I’ve made so many friends from so many places, you meet lots of interesting people.”

Got To Dance runs on Sky until March.
