TWO friends have raised over £2300 for youngsters at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Heather Moseley, from Shirley, and Gill Cooke, from Hall Green, held a series of fund raisers last year.
For over a decade, the pair have supported local good causes. Last year they decided to help the hospital’s ward 15, which treats youngsters with cancer.
They presented the sum to hospital staff last month, following 12 months of events.
Heather said: “We held a series of events throughout the year - selling raffle tickets at York Plumbing, on the Stratford Road and finishing with a disco at Fulford Heath Golf Club.
“The hospital asked if we wanted to buy toys for the children, but we thought it was better that we give them the money and they decide how to spend it.”
In the past the friends have donated to charities like Warren Pearl and Leukaemia Research. This is the second time that they have supported Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
