STILL happy after 70 years of marriage are Knowle lovebirds Edna and Dennis Cantello.
The sprightly couple, who have three children, seven granchildren and eight great-grandchildren, first met as young teenagers in Birmingham when Edna, originally from Leicester, would visit her aunt who lived next door to Dennis.
The pair, wrote to each other before finally tying the knot in 1941 at Victoria Road Baptist Church in Leicester when Edna was 20 and Dennis just 21 years-old.
He had managed to get special leave from the army where he served in the Royal Engineers.
And the secret of a happy marriage?
“Give and take - be the first to give in and then there’s no argument!” said Dennis.
Edna who is 90 and Dennis, 91, live in Downing Close and marked the May 15 milestone with lunch and then a gathering for neighbours.
They are also set to celebrate with 49 friends and family at Olton Golf Club this Saturday.
