Things could start to get a little prickly as the General Election campaign gets underway in Solihull.
Nick Clegg was the first party leader to visit the borough following the start of the campaign this week. The Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Democrats visited Solihull on the election trail.
He took in the Parkridge Centre, which is part of the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, to discuss environmental policies and meet with local volunteers – and a hedgehog.
MP hopeful Lorely Burt joined Mr Clegg on the visit. “We Lib Dems are tough campaigners and, as you can see, we’re not afraid to handle prickly subjects,” she said.
Last week Solihull was chosen as the first hedgehog improvement area in the UK.
