HISTORIC sites in Berkswell will be afforded greater protection after extensions were agreed to the village’s conservation area.
Over two years ago, the parish council commissioned a report to examine how the character of the area could be best preserved.
Berkswell Hall, The Rectory and a band of trees along Lavender Hall Lane will be among the local buildings and features brought under the new, enlarged area.
The report said preserving hedgerow, reducing traffic flow and ensuring its buildings are maintained should be among the village’s priorities.
Berkswell Parish Council will discuss the developments at their next meeting at the Reading Room on November 8, at 7.45pm.
