SOLIHULL Police Station is set to receive a major makeover as part of plans unveiled by West Midlands Police.
In late April work will start on the ground floor of the Homer Road site to create a modern welcoming front office and new operations centre.
This significant investment is being undertaken to improve the customer environment and access to police services for all communities within the borough.
The refurbishment will take several months to complete and during this time front office services will be maintained 24 hours a day, seven days a week via a temporary office at the front of the station.
Members of the public should also be aware that no parking facilities will be available at the station during the refurbishment and local public car parks should be used, with the exception of disabled visitors, who can use the lay-by in front of the station on Homer Road for set-down and pick-up.
Business Manager, Glynis Croxon-Jones, said: “This is an exciting project for the station and West Midlands Police. The new facilities will support our commitment to providing the best possible service and standards to our customers as detailed in the recent policing pledge.
“In addition to the improved facilities, front office and operations centre staff are undertaking advanced customer service training to ensure that, irrespective of how people access our services, the experience is positive and helpful.”
