CELEBRATIONS for the holiest Hindu month Shravan are to be held at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Hall Green.
An array of presentations and exhibitions will be displayed for all to see, as part of the three-day event held between Friday August 29 and Sunday August 31.
Shravan is the most auspicious month in the Hindu calendar, in which practising Hindus perform rituals and many fast for the month.
The religious activities held over the three days will all carry one salient theme: "Preserve values and values shall preserve you." Discourses will be held based upon ancient Hindu scriptures, as well as multimedia presentations, dances, sketches and much more.
As one of the largest and most dynamic Hindu organisations within the Indian diaspora in the UK, the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (organisation) is particularly recognised for the internationally acclaimed Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, London.
Mr. Vasant Parikh, the Mandir's lead coordinator, said: "Hindus all over the world take part in various religious activities during this month, and we know that there will be people in Birmingham and the surrounding areas who would like to get involved but are unsure how to."
