THE death of man - found with serious injuries in Chelmsley Wood shopping centre - is no longer being treated as suspicious.
A post mortem was carried out on Tuesday and police have said that the head injuries that the man had sustained were consistent with a fall.
The 41-year-old’s death has now been referred to the Birmingham coroner.
Security staff had discovered the man, whose name has not been released, slumped outside the local branch of Specsavers.
An ambulance was called to the scene and he was taken to Heartlands Hospital - where he subsequently died of
Detectives investigating the incident had been keen to speak to a key witness - who is thought to have discovered the injured man and called security. Officers have now confirmed that their search has been successful.
In the wake of the discovery, police had sealed off the Chelmsley Circle complex and searched the area.
As expected, the shopping centre was re-opened to the public on Wednesday morning.
