Family affair at spa

Sisters are doing it for themselves at KCUK – the town’s new hair and beauty day spa launched by former Solihull College students Krystle and Carla Pike.

After completing their Level 2 and 3 in Hairdressing at the College’s Blossomfield campus, the siblings are hoping to prove a cut above the competition with a spa room, sauna, relaxation room and exclusive couples room.

And for good measure, the first apprentice to start work with Krystle, 24, and Carla, 21, is 18-year-old Amy Lloyd – who is currently studying hair and beauty at Solihull College! “I love meeting people so working in hairdressing was an easy choice,” said Carla.

“The course at Solihull College opened my eyes to just how many opportunities there are in a hair and beauty career.”

Krystle added: “Although we did the same college course we hadn’t planned on going into business together for another five years. And for that, we owe a big thank you to our parents.

“The College programme really blew the traditional public stereotype of hairdressers out of the water.”
