The devastated family of a young woman killed in a motorbike crash last week have paid a touching tribute.
Lauren Roberts died on September 25, after her blue Honda CBR 125 R-5 bike was in collision with a black Vauxhall Astra on the Chester Road in Chelmsley Wood at just before 8.45pm.
Paramedics battled to save her life but there was nothing they could do and the 20-year-old, from Water Orton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road, at the junction of Forth Drive, was closed for several hours after the crash while police conducted inquiries and the 18-year-old man who was driving the Astra was interviewed.
Lauren’s family issued a statement following her death.
They said: “On Thursday evening our beautiful Lauren was tragically taken from us just a few weeks before her 21st birthday.
“Lauren was a loving daughter, granddaughter and sister and the whole family are totally devastated by her untimely death.
“The gap that has been left in our lives can never be filled and we ask that we are left to grieve privately.
“Any witnesses to the incident are requested to contact the police,” they added.
Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Collision Investigation Unit, also urged any witnesses to get in touch with officers investigating the incident.
“Specialist officers are currently liaising with the young woman’s family at this sad time,” he added.
Anyone with any information on the crash should contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
