A SOLIHULL fundraiser put his best ‘foote’ forward at the weekend to complete the London Marathon for a charity close to his heart.

Andy Foote, one of the founding members of the Joseph Foote Trust, completed the 26 mile event with his friend David Harrington, dressed as ‘city gents,’ in seven hours, 28 minutes and 30 seconds.

Andy and David took part in the marathon to raise money for the trust, which was set up in memory of Andy’s son, Joe, who died from a brain tumour. The pair managed to raise £4,340 towards the cause.

Andy, aged 48, said: “It was a fantastic day and I would like to thank everyone who supported us for this great cause.”

Another friend, Mark Blackwell, completed the race in four hours 52 minutes and raised over £2,000.

The Joseph Foote Trust has recently joined with Brain Tumour UK, with Andy as its new chairman.
