Festival fun kicks off

AFTER months of planning, Solihull Festival will finally begin tomorrow (Saturday).

AFTER months of planning, Solihull Festival will finally begin tomorrow (Saturday).

Organizers will be working flat out to deliver the nine-day programme of music, drama, and community events.

In all, there will be over 20 shows and activities taking place around Solihull. with Solihull Arts Complex, the Dovehouse Theatre, and the Fordbridge Centre among the venues taking part.

Proceeds will go to a number of good causes, and more than 60 volunteers will take to the streets to collect for the Midlands Air Ambulance – this year’s nominated charity.

A festival spokesman said: “From the start on Saturday with the Competitive Music Festival, to the completion a week later with Fun in the Park, they will be participating all around Solihull borough in over 20 events, appealing to all ages and interests.”

Rotary Clubs, Inner Wheel, and the Soroptimists are the groups who have been working to organize a first-rate line up.
