A SHIRLEY family are aiming to raise £10,000 to care for their seriously ill young daughter.

A SHIRLEY family are aiming to raise £10,000 to care for their seriously ill young daughter.

Down’s Syndrome sufferer Katie Pritchard, aged 11, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in May last year and currently has to undergo seven different forms of chemotherapy.

Parents Emma and Iain, who both work at Dixons in Yardley, are organising a number of fund raisers across the region, supported by Dixons, Bairstow Eves, Locke & England Estate Agents incorporating Countrywide West Midlands, to help her continue with the life-saving treatment.

Together they have already raised £2,500 for the cause.

The next fund raiser is a Countrywide West Midlands vs Wolverhampton Wanderers All Stars Football match on April 29 at Alvechurch Football Club.

The family day will include a ‘crossbar challenge’ and for children, a half-time penalty shoot out competition against an ex-Premiership goalkeeper.

The estate agents have also organised several fund-raisers over the summer including a Bairstow Eves vs Dixons rounders match on June 21 and Family Fun Day with School Sports Day competition on August 19.
