Flood warnings as parts of Solihull submerge by the rain

Heavy rain caused chaos in parts of Solihull this week, with many roads and open spaces becoming submerged in water

Heavy rain caused chaos in parts of Solihull this week, with many roads and open spaces becoming submerged in water.

Flood warnings were issued by the Environment Agency earlier this week at the River Blythe, Cheswick Green and River Cole, Solihull Lodge.

On Monday, a months worth of rain fell on the region in a 24 hour period with Mapledene Primary School in Sheldon among those to be affected by the downpour.

Parts of Solihull Lodge and Aqueduct Road, which flood regularly, became submerged by the torrential showers, as many drivers, cyclists and pedestrians battled the elements to travel into work.

Despite the warnings now being lifted, residents have been told to brace themselves for more wet weather over the next few days.
