TWO former TA recruits from Shirley are aiming to raise £10,000 for Help for Heroes by pedalling from Blackpool to Brighton.

TWO former TA recruits from Shirley are aiming to raise £10,000 for Help for Heroes by pedalling from Blackpool to Brighton.

Roy Marsan and Glenn Darkin, both aged 44, and their Biking4Heroes team, will take to the roads in August in support of former and serving troops.

The team will travel between the two seaside towns over the space of a week, making stops along the way to collect cash for the charity.

Roy, a plumber and Glenn, a delivery driver, were in the Royal Logistic Corp in their teens.

Roys mother Pat said: This is the lads way of giving something back and they could think of no better way than raising money for Help for Heroes.

We need donations for a support van to carry the gear and allow us to collect donations as we go.

To donate, call Roy on 07941 361802, email roymarsan@hotmail.co.uk or visit www.justgiving.com/biking4heroes.
