Found giving birth at the roadside

A DORRIDGE woman who disappeared from her home last month was found giving birth by the roadside – over 100 miles away.

Last week, police had issued an appeal to find Louise Byng – who had last been seen on September 15.

The 41-year-old was heavily pregnant, and concerns had been growing for her health, and that of her unborn child.

Neither friends nor family had been able to get hold of Louise.

However, she was found in the early hours of Sunday morning on a roadside, near Blackpool.

Members of the public took her to the city’s Victoria Hospital, where she gave birth to a baby boy.

Sergeant Neil Wood, from Solihull Police, said: “She has no connections with the Blackpool area, so it’s unclear why she travelled so far away from home at this late stage in her pregnancy.

“Everyone is just relieved that she is safe and well; Louise and her son will be staying with her parents for the foreseeable future.”
