SOLIHULL'S very own Melanie Brown had her life 'spiced up' by Virgin Media to celebrate the launch of a quirky new cinema ad featuring her famous namesake Mel B.

Virgin Media engineer Andy Gassor dropped by Melanie Brown's house in Balsall Common in true Hollywood style, rolling out the leopard print carpet and whisking her off to the cinema in a limousine to have a first glimpse of the ad.

He even sported a trademark Mel B leopard print outfit to add to the theme.

Mum of two Melanie entered the competition after hearing Virgin wanted Mel B's namesake from the area.

Her attempt paid off with a presentation of £100 worth of cinema tickets, as well as a night out in the limousine.

A delighted Melanie said she planned to use the cinema tickets at Touchwood's Cineworld cinema.

The advertisement for Virgin Media's movies on demand service features an animated Mel B visiting Richard Branson disguised as a plastic surgeon.
