BANKING on success are the owners of a new cafe bar which has re-opened on the site of the former HSBC bank in Dorridge.
Mat and Tina Bullock have spent £150,000 refurbishing the empty building in Station Approach which, until last November, had served the village as a bank.
Now The Station Cafe Bar is full steam ahead after launching this week and will open from 7am until 11pm and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The couple, who live in Glendon Way and have three children, say they had wanted to open a coffee shop for a long time but decided it made better business sense to open longer and sell alcohol as well.
Mat, a governor at Dorridge Infant and Junior School and chairman of Dorridge Scout Group, said the family had always immersed themselves in local life.
“Tina is involved with the local cub group and is a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant at Dorridge School.
“Our two eldest go to Arden School and the youngest is at Dorridge.
“We have great friends who have worked until midnight helping us with the refurbisment,” said Mat.
The café is licensed for 44 seats and the downstairs – The Safe Haven - has been converted into a privare room for hire.
