THE 4th Knowle Sea Scout Group hosted a fun evening for children from Chernobyl at Olton Mere, when they took them out in canoes and their new bell boat, and treated them to a barbecue.

THE 4th Knowle Sea Scout Group hosted a fun evening for children from Chernobyl at Olton Mere, when they took them out in canoes and their new bell boat, and treated them to a barbecue.

The group is one of few Sea Scouts sponsored by the Royal Navy, as well as being affiliated to HMS Darling. Each week 4th Knowle Sea Scout Group provides activities for over 200 young people, for details visit www.knowleseascouts.org.uk

It is 25 years since the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear plant left large parts of Belarus contaminated. The children living there still have to eat food that damages their immune systems. A month over here eating fresh and clean food can give a great boost to their health.
