THE sun shone this weekend as the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Ian Courts, opened a packed Knowle Festival and made a presentation to Knowle Football Club of their FA Charter Standard plaque and certificate.
The Mayor and Mayoress, Sheila Courts, then stayed a short while to enjoy the stalls and entertainment.
The many stalls from local clubs, traders and craftsmen were well supported this year with many indicating that they had made more money than previous years.
The arena was buzzing with performances from Learning Curve, Belly Dance Elements, Kineton Quackers, a sea replenishment by Knowle Sea Scouts and more. The young people of Knowle were well represented.
Once again the donkeys, climbing wall and other attractions including the new children’s roundabout were very popular.
Refreshments were plentiful with cakes from the Lady Katherine Leveson Foundation, barbecue from Lady Katherine PTA, donuts from the Sea Scouts and Candy Floss from Arden PTA.
Proceeds from the festival will go towards park improvements, proceeds from stalls will go to the charities supporting them.
