ENJOY a free fun day out in Shirley Park and support the community at the same time at this year’s Shirley Summer Fun Day.

There will be birds of prey on display and visitors can come face to face with spiders, snakes and cockroaches.

And if that sounds all too scary park goers can take part in one of the craft activities or try the scavenger hunt around the grounds or have a go on one of the rides and bounce on the trampolines.

For those with energy left, there will be football training or chance your luck on the tombola - there’s a free family meal at Nando’s up for grabs, Vi Stevens florist flowers, sweets, toys and much, much more…..

The event is on Tuesday, August24 , from 11am to 3pm in Shirley Park - and you can bring a picnic and park for free in Shirley - an easy day out for all the family.

All proceeds will go towards this year’s Shirley Christmas Lights fund.

If you would like to donate to the fund, every £1 helps, then please send a cheque made payable to Shirley Town Centre Partnership, 44b Drury Lane, Solihull, B91 3BG and put “Christmas Lights” and your name and address on the back of the cheque. You can even pop into the Shirley Branch of Barclays on Stratford Road or donate online with sort code: 207762 Account Number:10654043

For more information about the event, or for info on the Christmas lights fundraising, or to volunteer please speak to Becki Wood, town centre manager on 0121 704 8752 or Rachel Lowe on 0121 704 8759.
