SOLIHULL’S place on the national and international map looks firmly set for the future.
Genting is to open a £150m leisure and entertainment complex, JaguarLandRover is investing in its Lode Lane site and the runway extension at Birmingham Airport will combine to create many new jobs, will attract further investment and will create business for the supply chains.
But these are not haphazard projects they are all part of a masterplan, making the most of our economic assets.
The M42 economic gateway has a clear vision and a strategic opportunity driven masterplan.
Solihull Council is developing this masterplan, with a consortium, led by Arup and incorporating Ecorys, Jones Lang LaSalle and PricewaterhouseCoopers to unlock the potential from these assets and place Solihull firmly on the national and international map.
The masterplan will make the most of opportunities to accelerate investment. If the proposed High Speed 2 Birmingham Interchange station is realised, it will present a world class transportation opportunity, linking to major cities across Europe and a 30 minute link to London.
Solihull Chamber of Commerce is liaising with the consortium to keep members up to date on opportunities which will be created by the masterplan.
