GANG stole firearms during burglary, court heard

FOUR men have appeared in court accused of conspiring to steal firearms during burglaries in Birmingham and the borough.

FOUR men have appeared in court accused of conspiring to steal firearms during burglaries in Birmingham and the borough.

Darren Maxwell Duffy, 22, Paul King, 24, John O’Shaughnessy, also 24, and Christopher Hands, 25, were arrested in a joint operation by West Midlands, Warwickshire and the Central Motorway Police Group on the evening of June 12.

Police received reports that houses in Forshaw Heath Road, Earlswood and Cole Valley Road, Hall Green were raided by a group of masked men.

During the Solihull incident, which happened around 9.30pm, the gang is alleged to have tried to steal a gun safe and the owner’s Ferrari.

The defendants appeared at Solihull Magistrates Court last Thursday (June 14) charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to steal firearms and ammunition.

All four have now been committed to Warwick Crown Court for trial on September 21.
