A FEW hours of work proved lucrative for the RSPCA’s fund raising team - volunteers collected over £400.

All proceeds from the collection - which took place in Shirley High Street last Saturday - will go to the Birmingham Animal Centre.

Helen Tuite, community fundraising manager, said: “ Every penny counts - which is why we are just so grateful that there are lots of generous people out there who will still contribute when they might not have much money to spare.”

The charity’s next collection will be held in Chelmsley Wood centre on February 14 and the organisation is looking for volunteers.

If anyone would like to help, they can phone Helen Tuite on 07715 540518 or e-mail htuite@rspca.org.uk.
