Plans to introduce a German Christmas Market to Solihull town centre have been put on hold by the council’s planning committee.

Last week, councillors decided to defer their decision so that further inquiries could be made, but planning chiefs have recommended that the idea is given the green light.

If the application is approved, then the borough could host a scaled-down version of the Frankfurt Christmas Market - which is held annually in Birmingham and attracts millions of visitors.
