A TWELVE-year-old girl was injured in a road smash last week, which saw massive tailbacks along the M6.
The collision, involving a lorry and two cars, took place on Friday morning between Junctions 5 and 4a.
Transport authorities were forced to close the southbound carriage of the motorway for almost half-an-hour following the crash.
Ambulance crews found the girl had suffered minor injuries, and took her to hospital as a precaution.
Commuters got stuck in traffic jams following the accident, but even when two lanes were reopened, still faced major delays.
