I READ with interest Councillor Ted Richards’ comments in your paper: “. . . we do have responsibility for ensuring that people can use our footpaths safely.” That’s rich as it does appear the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing on Solihull Council.
I phoned the council’s Refuse Collection at 12noon on November 16 concerning all the broken glass fragments I had collected from the footpath bordering my drive after the glass recycling vehicle had made its collection.
I was concerned, as well as for my car tyres, by the fact that we have an infant school on this road and a secondary school at the end of it.
Obviously broken glass littering a pavement is not so important to the council as they have not contacted me about my call.
