Rob Rowson, estate manager at Marriott Forest of Arden Golf Course, is preparing for the gruelling course which will see him tackle 26 obstacles include jumping off a bridge into freezing water and battling his way through cow dung, nettles and fire.

“I am planning to make some tough physical training part of my daily routine,” said Rob aged 35, who has worked at The Marriott since 1999.

General manager Eamonn Thompson said everyone at the hotel would be wishing Rob well when he set out to complete the three-hour challenge at the specially designed Tough Mudder course at Kettering in May.

All the money raised will go towards the Newlife Foundation for disabled and terminally ill children, the hotel’s nominated charity.
