THE Forest of Arden Golf Club will hold an action-packed golf day later this month to help support the Joseph Foote Fundraising Trust.
Set up in 2000 by Andy Foote, the trust is dedicated to raising money in order to support and run a research programme into children's cancer at Nottingham University.
Andy's son Joseph sadly passed away last year aged nine after a seven-year battle with a brain tumour which was unsuccessfully removed six times.
Since the charity was set up eight years ago, over £1m has been raised and the entertaining golf day hopes to add a further £20,000.
After 18 holes of golf on the Arden Championship Course on October 22 a golf trick show will follow.
Then the entertaining evening will include a three-course meal and an auction of some fascinating golfing memorabilia with all proceeds going to the Trust.
Event organiser Tony Hoare wanted to help the charity after suffering the pain of losing a loved when his son died of cot death aged just nine months.
"I felt driven to help this charity and so as a complete golf nut I felt that organising a charity/auction golf day was something I could achieve successfully while ensuring that everyone has a great day."
