LOCAL Tories and Lib Dem accomplices (aided by their national bosses) are guilty of cheap lying to the public in their misguided, mischievous opposition to building an all-purpose modern health clinic in central Solihull, funded by the Government, which will benefit many patients.
A possible location could be on part of the site of the old demolished maternity block.
Surely providing an 8am-8pm, seven-day-a-week, wide-ranging service will be appreciated by many people, who at present are only able to use GP surgeries from Monday to Friday between 9am and 1pm and 2pm and 6pm.
With a new clinic clients can attend without prior appointment, whilst remaining registered with their usual surgery, thus improving choice. Now Solihull Care Trust chief executive, plus the chairman, have had to issue public statements categorically refuting this untrue, panic-causing propaganda campaign being widely circulated in Party pamphlets.
I appeal to Lorely, Maggie Throup and Caroline to please start being more fair-minded and honest.
I have a very high opinion of my Yewtree surgery, which always looks after my family well. This new provision will supplement and in no way endanger the much welcomed and increasing services that local surgeries supply.
Don Bargery, health campaigner, Solihull.
