BRUMMIE broadcaster Carl Chinn was a recent visitor at the Grace Academy.
Radio WM accompanied the presenter to the Chelmsley Wood school, where he chatted with youngsters and showed media students how programmes are made. As well as grilling a group of sixth form students, Carl spoke to principal Bal Pierpoint.
The energetic historian agreed to visit the Chapelhouse Lane premises after a request from parent governor Mandy Allcroft.
Jono Lowe, the Grace Academy’s head of media, said: “Carl Chinn and Radio WM’s visit to the school was a fantastic opportunity for media studies students to meet industry insiders and see aspects of how broadcasters operate. Carl is a real character. He had the students, and the principal chuckling moments after arriving but was the consummate professional throughout. I am confident that the visit helped encourage and inspire our students interested in the media.”
