IT took a long time to come, but it was well worth the wait, and no, we're not talking about the train!
Excited Evelyn Hall embarked at Solihull railway station on Wednesday for the first ever 'day out' in her life with all four of her children together.
For her 94th birthday the loving family arranged a surprise trip to London so Evelyn could see one of her favourite productions, 'The Sound of Music'.
The 'baby of the family', Beverley, who lives in Pershore, felt that treating her mother to the special outing would be fitting on her birthday.
"We don't get chance to spend much time together but this is going to be a great day out," she said.
After watching the timeless family classic at the London Palladium, it was arranged that sons Peter, aged 65, and Colin, 60, would join daughters Pauline, 63, and Beverley, 53, at a luxury restaurant in the capital city.
Birthday girl, Evelyn, from New Road in Solihull, admitted that she was looking forward to the day out.
"It was quite a surprise when they told me, but it's a lovely idea and I'm really excited.
"I like London, I was at Buckingham Palace only last week!"
