Gran’s colourful new guide for youngsters

GRANDMOTHER Lynda Smith has written a children’s book about colour.

GRANDMOTHER Lynda Smith has written a children’s book about colour.

Mrs Smith, formerly of Earlswood, says Colour In My World is a self-help colour guide for children, full of activities to help them use their imagination and become more creative.

The author is a colour and image consultant, who helps people choose what colours they should wear based on their skin tone, eye and hair colour.

“This is a great resource for children to tap into the colour realms around them and lighten up their world,” said the mother of two.

“It helps children discover the colours that suit them, uncovers their own colour sign and shows how empowering colour is when we know how to use it.

“Children don’t really know how colours affect them. For example you wouldn’t dress a child in red if they were overactive. A child like that you would dress in blue.

“It’s a book parents, grandparents and carers can enjoy with them.”

Lynda, aged 51, who is married to Geoff, said: “We featured in the Solihull News in January or February 1986 under ‘House for sale, comes with dog and pony’ because we were emigrating - the house sold within a week.

“We now spend half the year in Spain and the other half in this area. Our elder daughter Carlie Twigg, aged 30, lives in Hall Green.

“Both girls went to Henley In Arden School. We gave the girls the option to stay or go with us and they decided to stay.”
