A NEW organisation is being launched next year to allow residents to hold their local health services to account.

As part of the Government’s Health and Social Care Act 2012, Healthwatch Solihull will launch in April 2013 as a new ‘consumer champion’ for health and social care services in the borough.

Councillor Bob Sleigh, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “It will ensure the views and experiences of patients, service users and carers are taken into account when local needs assessments and strategies are prepared, giving it an important role in promoting and improving health outcomes for local people.”
