Guides and Brownies celebrate 100 years

ALMOST 1,000 women and girls will celebrate the girl guides’ centenary at the NEC this weekend.

Guides and Brownies from Solihull and further afield gathered at the NEC last weekend to celebrate the movement's 100th birthday

ALMOST 1,000 women and girls celebrated the Girl Guides’ centenary at the NEC last weekend.

It’s 100 years since, Robert Baden Powell started the movement and celebratory events have been taking place up and down the country.

Guides from Birmingham and Solihull made their way to the NEC party, which counted among the biggest in the region.

Special guests included MPs Lorely Burt and Caroline Spelman and Solihull’s Mayor, Coun Norman Davies.
