A FORMER Land Rover employee has been charged with harassing his female boss after allegedly calling her “day and night” for months.
Martin Emberton, 23, of Hall Green, appeared at Solihull Magistrates Court on Tuesday February 7 after he “terrified” his former contract manager at Manpower, which recruits for Land Rover, Georgina Catalinotto.
John McCann, prosecuting, said the 30-year-old victim had begun receiving calls from a withheld number in April last year. Although no one spoke, she recognised sounds from the Land Rover plant.
“For a lady that’s very unnerving,” he said.
Ms Catalinotto continued to receive two calls a week until October when the male caller began speaking to her.
The man introduced himself as “an old friend” before telling her “I can see you.”
“Straight away that terrifies her,” added Mr McCann.
On one occasion, 46 missed calls were received in just one hour.
In a witness impact statement, read out in court, Ms Catalinotto said: “The situation has made me feel very uncomfortable and nervous.”
Mr Emberton admitted calling his old boss and told the court he had been depressed at the time but denied contacting her before October.
He has been conditionally bailed until the trial on March 21.
