HALL Green comedian Joe Lycett says there’s a bit of a buzz around the local stand-up circuit - so it’s rather ironic that he’ll be hosting a show in aid of bees!
The 24-year-old will be headlining a comedy night, organised by the Birmingham Friends of the Earth, to raise awareness about the dwindling insect population.
Rising star Joe has teamed up with the environmental group previously. “They’re good eggs,” he said. “They helped when I ran a campaign a year or so back about trying to improve the local bus services in and around Birmingham.
“I think projects like this are good as they make you realise how precarious our pathetic little existences are, if the bees go then we will follow!”
There’s Something Funny in the Honey is on at the Glee Club on October 23. Tickets are £10 from www.glee.co.uk
