BELLY-busting meals will be high in Handmade Burger Co employees’ thoughts as they prepare for a fun run next month.
As part of the Touchwood restaurant’s ‘Give Back’ campaign, workers have teamed up with charity Sustain to take on their fund-raising team challenge.
The hard-working charity has set up this exciting way to build team relationships and the Handmade Burger team can’t wait to start the Virgin Active fun run at Blythe Valley Business Park on September 13. “We are really looking forward to completing our team challenge and supporting worthy local causes while having a great time together,” said Sam Horswill, manager at Handmade Burger Co.
Sustain runs over 600 charities and voluntary groups in Solihull and in the current challenging economic climate, they are facing a tough time as demand for their services grows while sources of income fall.
More and more people stricken by the financial crisis are turning to them for advice on topics such as debt, unemployment and relationship breakdown.
Sustain are delighted with the response their challenge initiative has received and are hoping for more businesses to come forward and support the idea.
“We are delighted that Handmade Burger co are so supportive of the voluntary and charity organisations in Solihull, especially the Solihull Together campaign,” said Business Advisor Martin Clarke. “Handmade Burger Co have shown that fund raising can be fun as well as beneficial, so we are encouraging businesses to join and support local charities.”
