A YARDLEY women managed to find a job within 24 hours of losing her position at Woolworth’s.

Katie Simpson found herself out of work after the Sheldon branch closed its doors earlier this year. But following a quick visit to Jobcentre Plus, the 20-year-old landed a new role almost instantly.

Now she is working as an administrator at Lindale Homes - just a stone’s throw from where she lives.

Katie said:“I loved working at Woolworth’s, we were a happy bunch and it was a shock when it closed.

“I really like my new job at Lindale Homes, I enjoy the variety and the hustle and bustle and the people here are great. I couldn’t believe how quickly I found a job I am really lucky. If it wasn’t for the lovely staff at Yardley Jobcentre I wouldn’t be here now.”

Jobcentre Plus has over 1000 bases around the UK. To find out more go to www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk
